Woman hit, relieved of “Mangalsutra” worth Rs 56,000 by two motorcycle-borne youths

A woman was robbed of her “Mangalsutra” by two motorcycle-borne youths in the jurisdiction of Pratap Nagar Police Station.

According to police, the victim woman Anita Ravishekhar Palkar (40), a resident of Plot No. 251-A, Snehakunj Apartment, Canal Road, Dharampeth, along with her daughter, was proceeding to Mangaldeep Karyalaya in Pratap Nagar. Both were riding on their vehicle (MH-31/DM 3338) and were going to the hall for attending a birthday party. However, in the midway, two youths in the age group of 25 years and riding red-black coloured motorcycle hit Anita on her neck and snatched the “Mangalsutra” worth Rs 56,000 at about 2100 hours of Saturday. Anita reached the Pratap Nagar Police Station, instead, and lodged a complaint with them in this regard. The Pratap Nagar PSI Sheikh booked the unidentified youths under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC and further probing the matter.
