Nagpur: A collision between a truck and a moped in Suyog Nagar area in Ajni police limits resulted in the death of one woman and left another injured.
The deceased has been identified as Sukeshni Ajay Gaikwad (40) from Trimurti Nagar, while Neeta Deepak Tabhane was injured.
According to police, the incident took place when both women were travelling on a moped (MH31/EZ-5190). At Suyog Nagar Chowk, they were struck by a truck (MH49/AT-4339). The impact of the collision caused severe injuries to Sukeshni and Neeta, who were immediately rushed to the GMCH for medical attention. Tragically, Sukeshni could not survive her injuries and breathed her last despite efforts of the doctors.
Ajni police registered a case under Sections 304 (A) and 279 of the IPC and arrested the truck driver identified as Naresh Uttam Nehare (33) from Khedi village in Kamptee.
Pedestrian knocked dead on Wardha Road
AN unidentified woman was killed when a speeding Bullet motorcycle hit her on Wardha Road in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
According to Beltarodi police, the accident occurred at 1.30 am on Sunday when the woman was crossing the road. The Bullet motorcycle came from another side at great speed and hit the woman. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her dead.
The Bullet rider Omkar Vilas Kelapure (22), a resident of Santaji Housing Society, Manish Nagar, was booked under Sections 279, 338 and 304 (A) of IPC. Further investigation is on.
