Woman labourer murdered by colleague in Sonegaon area

 A woman labourer was murdered by her colleague who smashed her head with a spade over consumption of liquor. The murder took place in Sonegaon area here on Friday night. The accused has been arrested.

The deceased has been identified as Fulwati Madavi (35) and the accused is Babulal Uike (25). Both were natives of Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh but were currently staying in a rented house of Sachin Uike in Gondwana Nagar. After the death her first husband Fulwati had come to Nagpur in search of work and was staying with Babulal as his wife. It is learnt that both were habitual drunkards.

According to police, a brawl erupted between Fulwati and Babulal on Friday night over consumption of liquor. During the quarrel, Fulwati and Babulal went to a vacant ground in nearby Rahul Nagar. The wordy duel took a bloody turn when Babulal allegedly hit Fulwati with a spade on her head killing her on the spot. Sonegaon police, upon being informed, reached the spot and arrested the accused Babulal. Sources said another reason behind the murder could be doubting of Fulwati’s character by the accused Babulal.

The case was registered in Sonegaon Police Station under Crime No 156/16 under section 302 of Indian Penal Code.

While addressing a press conference Additional Commissioner of Police (North and South Zone) Dr Suhas Warke, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ranjan Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-IV) G Shridhar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Nilesh Raut, Incharge of Sonegaon Police Station Police Inspector Bagul said that after detailed investigations the accused were nabbed. They are identified as Babulal Tulsiram Iwnate hailing from Balaghat. Since the cops did not even have a photograph of the accused, it was a big challenge to the cops. Under the guidance and directions of DCP Zone V who was on night rounds and DCP Zone-1 Deepali Masirkar, constituted two squads under Assistant Police Inspeector Praveen Patil and API Nitin Pagar. The accused was searched in Bus Stand and Railway Station and when they did not find him anywhere. However on a tip off from the informers the accused was nabbed from a under-construction building near Manish Nagar Railway Crossing.
