A 27-year-old woman has been battling for life at Lata Mangeshkar hospital here after her husband and in-laws tried to set herself ablaze on Sunday at the latter’s residence at Vaishali Nagar under MIDC police station here. On the basis of the statement given by Madhuri, MIDC police registered an offence against her husband and in-laws under Sections 307 and 34 of the IPC.
Police sources said 27-year-old Madhuri Yadav Rahate was married to the Yadav Rahate, a resident of Vaishali Nagar under the jurisdiction of MIDC police station. The complainant said that on Sunday, Yadav Rahate, his mother Pramila, cousin Shashikala and younger brother Shubham put up a brawl with her for hiding about her first marriage. They poured kerosene on her and tried kill her. Neighboures rushed her to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital for treatment.
