Nagpur News: Enraged over an illicit relationship of her husband, a 32-year-old woman set herself ablaze at her Amba Nagar residence in Nandanwan on Tuesday evening. Geeta Bajait died on the spot while her house also turned into ashes.
Before taking the extreme step, Bajait had sent her 3-year-old son to buy chocolate from nearby shop. The rising flames from Bajait’s house alerted the neighbours who then informed nearby Nandanwan police. Within an hour, the firing tenders reached and prevent the fire from scattering.
Her husband, Bhaiyalal, an auto driver, is still absconding. Police said that they are trying to contact him, but he has switched off his cell phone.
Bajait was the second wife of Bhaiyalal. Neighbours informed that despite of divorce from his first wife, Bhaiyalal was in a relationship with his first wife which was the only reason for argument between the couple. Police informed that Geeta had warned Bhaiyalal to end his relationship or else she would kill herself.
Police has registered a case of an accidental death and are searching for Bhaiyalal.
