Woman steals gold ornaments worth Rs 2.43 lakh from Batukbhai Jewellers in Dharampeth

Nagpur: A con woman, posing as a customer, stole gold ornaments worth Rs 2.43 lakh from a jewellery showroom in Dharampeth on Tuesday, November 16 afternoon. Sitabuldi police have launched a search for the woman thief.

In his complaint to Sitabuldi police, the Sales Manager of Batukbhai Jewellers Viraj Bharat Seth (27) said that the unidentified woman, aged 30-35, came to the jewellery showroom, situated on West High Court Road, Dharampeth, around 12.30 pm. The con woman posed as a customer and asked the Sales Manager to show gold jewellery.

However, the woman thief distracted the attention of the Sales Manager and stole gold ornaments worth Rs 2.43 lakh slyly and vanished from the showroom within no time. As the theft came to light, Viraj Seth, a resident of Heritage Apartment, near MLA Hostel, approached Sitabuldi police and registered a case.

Sitabuldi API Chandan has booked the unidentified woman burglar under Section 380 of the IPC and launched a search for her.
