Woman taken for a ride by “would-be hubby” for Rs 2.50 lakh

Nagpur: A 36-year old woman was taken for a ride by her “would-be husband” at the expense of Rs 2.50 lakh. Now, the conman is the subject of a hunt by Kalamna cops.

The Shikshak Colony, Bharat Nagar resident Monalisa Pandharinath Kukde (36), with the hope of getting married, had registered herself at Jeevansathi.com website, a matrimonial portal, on 16.12.2015. On the same website, the con accused Shivam Satyam Arya created his bogus profile and contacted Monalisa and promised her to tie the nuptial knot. After winning Monalisa’s trust, the so-called Shivam Satyam Arya asked her to deposit/transfer over Rs 2.50 lakh in a given bank account from time to time. However, once the amount was deposited, the accused “would-be husband” went “silent” since then. Umpteen efforts by Monalisa to contact him proved futile. Soon she realized that she was taken for a ride with marriage promise at the cost of over Rs 2.50 lakh.

Kalamna PSI Sonparate, based on Monalisa’s complaint, has booked the accused Shivam Satyam Arya under Sections 406, 419, 420, 465, 468 of the IPC and hunting him.
