Nagpur: A woman’s love for her pet cat cost her gold chain worth Rs 30,000. The incident took place in Pratapnagar jurisdiction on Thursday afternoon.
The victim, Shanta Naresh Sarkar (62), resident of Plot No. 35B, Bhausaheb Survey Nagar, came out of her home around 3.30 pm on Thursday in search of her “missing” cat. While Shanta was looking for her pet feline on the main road, two motorcycle-borne urchins came near her and asked about the address of one Mishra. When Shanta said she does not know the address, the two unidentified ruffians snatched her gold chain worth Rs 30,000 and sped away on the black motorcycle even before she could raise an alarm. It could not be ascertained whether Shanta succeeded in tracing her pet cat but she certainly lost her cherished stuff and rendered poorer by Rs 30,000.
Pratapnagar Kuthe has registered a case under Sections 392, 34 of the IPC against the two miscreants and searching for them.
