Nagpur: A woman travelling in a bus was robbed of gold jewellery worth Rs 3,00,000 on 31-12-14. Cops have launched a hunt to nab the unidentified thief.
According to police, the victim Jayashri Vinod Barai (39), resident of Plot No. 53, ‘Dnyanshobha,’ Government Press Colony, Dabha, Nagpur, had gone to Bhandara to attend her sister’s marriage. On 31.12.14, Jayashri was returning home by Bhandara-Nagpur bus. However, between 4 pm and 10 pm, the unidentified thief broke open the lock of Jayashri’s suitcase and laid his hands on the gold jewellery worth Rs 3,00,000 kept in it. But Jayashri noticed the theft only after opening the suitcase on January 3. She immediately lodged a complaint with Gittikhadan Police Station in this connection.
Gittikhadan API Sonavane has registered an offence against the unidentified thief under Section 379 and searching for him.
