Nagpur: Central India Women’s College (SNDT Vidyapeeth) Nagpur functioning under Mehmuda Sikshan and Mahila Gramin Vikas Bahuddeshiya Sanstha celebrated 111th International Women’s Day. The objective of the programme program was to spread the message of equality for women in every field.
The chief guests of the program was Dr. Swati Raut (Principal Central India College of Education), Dr. Yasmin Siddiqui (Principal Central India Teachers’ School) and Dr. Seema Chikhale (Principal Central India Chumes College of Education SNDT Vidyapeeth).
The program started with the lighting of the lamp by the hands of dignitaries. In the program, Students through speech, essay, poster, singing and dance competition presented past, present and future images of women.
Dr. Swati Raut, while inspiring the students in her speech, told that even today women have to fight for their existence and identity. She said, In reality, the woman is the architect of the society.
Dr. Yasmin Siddiqui in her speech said that women’s progress should be further focused by providing them equal rights and opportunities. Empowerment of women is very important to bringing gender equality.
Dr. Seema Chikhale in her speech said that the purpose of this day will be fulfilled only when the exploitation against women will be reduced, criminal cases will be zero, when women and men will get equal status. She asked the girl students to be able to take care of their own safety.
In the program Prof Rekha Kale, Prof. Anvita Telang, Prof. Kesar Jahan, Prof. Durga Ingle, Prof. Saima Ansari, staff and students were present. The program was compared by Dr. Shabana Anjun and vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Sharda Thakare
