Nagpur: The work on Swami Vivekanand Statue and other light and musical show at Ambazhari Lake overflow point is underway on war-footing.
A small lawn with trees has already been created at the area near the Ambazhari Overflow point. A big seating arrangement which can house at least some 1000 people has been made. The statue will be in a small artificial island with water flowing from both the sides. A light and music show is also slated to be aired on the spot. A big fountain which creates a glass-like screen will be made on which the entire life and the teachings of Swami Vivekanand will be displayed.
On January 1, 2017, the statue of Swami Vivekanand is said to be unveiled in the august presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari, Vice President of Vivekanand Kendra (Kanyakumari) Nivedita Bhide, and Bhramhastana Nand from Ramkrishana Math, Nagpur, State Education Minister Vinod Tawde and Environment Minister Jaikumar Rawal.
2017 is the 154th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekanand.
The Ambazhari Overflow point was a point where the idols of Lord Ganesh are immersed.
