Young man crushed to death by truck in MIDC Hingna area

Nagpur: A young man was crushed to death by a speeding Eicher mixer truck near Electronic Zone Chowk at Amar Nagar in MIDC area of Nagpur Monday night. The driver of Eicher mixer truck (MH-40/CD-1701) sped away fearing arrest.

The deceased, Mohit Mahesh Waghmare (25) was a native of Patri, Nakadongri, taluka Tumsar, district Bhandara. A resident of Nagalwadi, Mohit was working at Pesud Company in MIDC area. Mohit was going to his office on a Hero Honda Deluxe motorcycle (MH-40/AH-4498) around 11.45 pm. Suddenly, the mixer truck hit the bike. He fell off the bike and came under the rear wheel of the truck.

With serious injuries, Mohit was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences but on the way, he succumbed to his injuries. MIDC Police registered a case under Sections 279, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 134, 177 of the Motor Vehicle Act, against the truck driver and launched a search for him.

Pedestrian knocked dead near Dongargaon

A pedestrian was killed after he was knocked down by a speeding motor vehicle near Dongargaon on Wardha Road Monday night. The driver of the ‘killer’ vehicle sped away fearing arrest.

Identified as Sunil Ramesh Chauhan (42), the deceased was a resident of Hanuman Nagar, Dongargaon. Around 9.15 pm, Sunil was crossing the road in front of Ambika Bar & Restaurant at Dongargaon. Suddenly, a rashly-driven motor vehicle hit Sunil injuring him seriously. The driver fled the spot. Sunil was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences where he succumbed to his injuries around 2 am on Tuesday.

After recording the statement of Omprakash Chauhan (19), younger brother of the deceased, Hingna Police registered a case under Sections 279, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 134, 177, 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act, and started investigation.
