Nagpur: A young man, who had gone on an excursion to Ghogra Mahadev with friends, drowned while bathing in the Pench River on Wednesday evening. Upon receiving information about the incident, Parshivni police retrieved the body from the river. The deceased has been identified as Roshan Shravan Parteti (27).

Roshan worked as a waiter at a beer bar in Chhatrapati Chowk, Nagpur. Since the beer bar and liquor shops were closed on Wednesday due to ‘Dry Day’ for Ashadhi Ekadashi, Roshan and five of his friends decided to go on an excursion to Shri Kshetra Ghogra Mahadev in Parshivni taluka.

While there, Roshan and his friends ventured to the area behind the temple near the Pench River. Roshan stood at the edge of the river but lost his balance and fell directly into the water. Since he was not a strong swimmer and no one was able to help him in time, Roshan drowned in the river.
