Nagpur: A young man was knocked dead by a rashly driven truck in Kalamna area on Thursday night. The driver reportedly fled the spot leaving behind his truck.
The deceased, Sachin Shivlal Yadav (32), resident of Yadav Nagar, Kamptee, was going on his Activa moped (MH-40/AV 0271) around 11.30 pm on Thursday. As he reached at Chikhli Square, near Kalamna Market, a six-wheeler truck (UP-32/CZ 7449), rammed his Activa with forceful impact. Sachin fell on the road as a result and suffered grievous injuries. He died on the spot. After the mishap, the driver fled the spot leaving behind his killer truck.
Kalamna PSI Jadhav, based on a complaint lodged by Pramendra Rajjan Yadav (34), booked the unidentified truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.
