Young man murdered in dispute over love triangle in Nagpur, 4 arrested

Nagpur: Four persons, including a woman, attacked a young man in the Bhandewadi area under Pardi Police Station in Nagpur in a dispute that was the result of a love triangle. The man died during treatment on Saturday. Police have now charged the accused with murder and criminal conspiracy.

All four accused are currently in police custody. The deceased has been identified as Nishant Pradeep Tambe, a resident of Jhenda Chowk, Mahal.

According to police, Nishant had been in a relationship with Mamta Chauhan for the past two years. The situation escalated when Mamta’s previous acquaintance, Abhishek Yuvraj Welekar along with his associates Raju Dhruv Chakradhari and Tariq Yunus Shah, confronted Nishant at his home on July 20.The confrontation turned violent after Abhishek revealed his past relationship with Mamta which led to a heated argument.

The group then proceeded to Mamta’s residence, where Mamta expressed her desire to marry Abhishek which further infuriated Nishant. The dispute resulted in Abhishek and his associates attacking Nishant with a knife. Despite Nishant’s attempt to flee, he was cornered again at Pardi Square and repeatedly stabbed.

A nearby policeman intervened, and Nishant was rushed to Hospital for treatment, where he died on Saturday, July 27. The police have arrested Mamta Chauhan, Abhishek Yuvraj Welekar, Raju Dhruv Chakradhari, and Tariq Yunus Shah, and have charged them with criminal conspiracy and murder.

Further investigation is underway.

Aarti Ramesh Tiwari, a 40-year-old resident of Devinagar, Pardi, has died after being severely injured in a violent attack by her husband, Ramesh Jagjivan Prasad Tiwari. The incident occurred in the Pawangaon area under Kalamna police station last Tuesday.

Ramesh, a local priest, suspected Aarti of having an affair, leading to frequent domestic disputes. On the day of the attack, Ramesh took Aarti to Pawangaon under the pretext of a stroll, where he struck her on the head multiple times with a stone. Aarti sustained critical injuries and was admitted to the hospital, where she died on Saturday afternoon.

The police have charged Ramesh with murder; however, he remains at large. Ramesh and Aarti have three children together. The search for Ramesh is ongoing, as the police continue to investigate the case.
