Youth arrested for detaining, raping 17-yr old girl with marriage promise

A youth has been arrested on the charges of detaining a 17-year old girl on the pretext of marriage promise and raping her for six months. The matter came to light when health of the girl deteriorated and had to be hospitalised.

The accused, Kapil Rakeshwar Lanjewar (24), resident of Kalamna, lured the 17-year old girl with marriage promise and kept her at his house. The accused Kapil forcibly exploited the girl sexually for six months. However, when the health of the victimised girl deteriorated, she was admitted in Samarpan Hospital. The girl blurted the heinous act of the accused during the course of treatment.

Kalamna PSI S M Sonparate, based on the statement of the girl and Medico Legal Certificate (MLC), booked the accused Kapil Lanjewar under Sections 363, 366, 376(2)(N) of the IPC and arrested him. Further investigation is underway.

Man arrested for rape:

In another case, a 28-year old man named Abhijit Arvind Ingole, resident of Borgaon Square, doled out marriage promise to 28-year old woman. With the ‘promising’ words, Abhijit established physical relations with the woman over a period of past 2 and half years. Moreover, the accused, under the influence of liquor, beat up the girl whenever she protested her sexual exploitation.

Gittikhadan Woman PSI S V Kinnake, acting on complaint of the victimised girl, registered a case under Sections 376(C), 323 of the IPC and placed him under arrest.
