 A youth held in the custody of Sitabuldi police, on Monday, tried to commit suicide in the lock up. He was admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital.

Police sources said constable Vaishali Bhojraj Waghmare (36) was on duty at Sitabuldi police station when the youth Amol Ashokrao Mirzapure (26), a native of Yavatmal who was kept in the custody slashed his hand nerves with a sharp pin. Vaishali noticed Amol’s bleeding hand and immediately informed other associates. They rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
