Nagpur: In a programme held on the auspices of Nagpur Loksabha Yuvak Congress a total of 11729 men and women were distributed Smart Cards. The function, organized at Shingada Market premises near Ganesh Mandir in Prabhag 18 New Shukrawari, was the initiative of Youth Congress leader Bunty Shelke. Former MP Gev Awari and senior journalist Omprakash Soni graced the programme.
Bunty Shelke, in his introductory remarks, said the camp was held following heavy demand of citizens of Central Nagpur. The camp continued for 78 days. In the camp, 11729 men and women were distributed Smart Cards including 1843 Senior Citizen Cards, 4687 PAN Cards, 437 Aadhar Cards etc.
Those who worked hard for the success of the event include Block President Prakash Bante, Rehana Khan, Ramesh Pund, Dr Mahadeo Nagrale, Dilip Thanekar, Appa Mohite, Rakesh Vaidya, and others. The guests in their address praised the initiative. Soni even suggested to include ration cards in the next programmes.
