Nagpur News.
A youth lost his life when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into the huge cable drum (reel or wheel) put right on the road. The putting of the massive cable drum by the concerned authorities right on the road could certainly be blamed for the fatal accident.
According to police, the victim Kishore Ambhulkar (24), a resident of Mohan Nagar, Nagpur had gone to his elder brother Kunal’s house in Khaperkheda to celebrate his nephew’s birthday on Tuesday. After the birthday celebration was over, Kishore started returning to his home in the night on his Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle (MH-31/BM 3441). When he reached on the Kolar River bridge on Koradi Temple-Khaperkheda Road, Kishore could not spot the huge cable drum right on the road and rammed it with forceful impact. Kishore got hurled in the air due to the impact and crashed on the road suffering grave head injuries. Meanwhile, some passerby spotted Kishore lying in a pool of blood at the accident spot. The passerby informed PSI Pachpore of Khaperkheda Police Station about the incident. However, according to sources, the police did not reach the spot even after one and half hour. But after reaching the spot, police shifted seriously injured Kishore to Mayo Hospital in Nagpur where he succumbed to head injuries while undergoing treatment. Had the police reached immediately or even the passersby shifted Kishore to hospital the life of Kishore could have been saved, sources said after talking to some people gathered at the spot.
The victim Kishore Ambhulkar was bachelor and was working in a private firm.
However, the criminal negligence on the part of concerned authorities in putting the cable drum right on the Kolar river bridge, which is totally invisible in the night, sniffed out a young life. Further probe into the matter is being carried out by Khalerkheda police.
