Youth, going for CRPF recruitment, falls off train; dies

Nagpur: A budding youth’s dream of serving Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was shattered, fatally. His wrong judgment in deboarding a running train too unfortunately helped cut short his life. The tragedy occurred near Khapri Railway Station on Tuesday, January 5.

The deceased, Shubham Marotrao Bhojraj (21), resident of Hinganghat, District Wardha, was travelling by Korba Express for going to Bhandara where a CRPF recruitment drive was being undertaken. When the train was nearing Khapri Railway Station, Shubham terribly misjudged in assuming that the station had actually arrived and stood at the door of his coach. But suddenly he slipped and fell off the train. Some co-passengers immediately stopped the train and rushed Shubham to Government Hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on January 6.

Based on a complaint filed by Datta Bandurao Rahse of Hinganghat, Sonegaon PSI Darade has registered a case of accidental death and investigating the matter further.
