Rural Police on Thursday arrested a 20-year old youth on the charges of kidnapping 14-year old boy and demanding Rs 10 lakh as ransom. The outrageous incident occurred in Umred on September 11.
According to police, the accused Bhaskar Satish Hedau (20), resident of Jogithana, Umred, kidnapped the 14-year old Jayesh, son of Sanjay Kundandas Sahajramani (41), also resident of Umred, at about 11 am on Thursday and took him to a secluded place. Thereafter, the accused Bhaskar whipped out a knife and touched it to the belly of Jayesh. Bhaskar then phoned Sanjay Sahajramani and threatened him by saying “Maine Tere Bacche Ko Kidnap Kiya Hai. Mai Nagpur Ka Goonda Hu. Mujhe 10 lakh rupaye dena nahi to tere bacche ko khatma kar dunga” (I have kidnapped your son. I am Nagpur’s goon. Give me Rs 10 lakh or else I will kill your son). At the same time, Mohsin Naseem Sheikh was passing through Umred road and he spotted Jayesh crying. Mohsin immediately stopped the accused Bhaskar and handed him over to police.
Umred police registered an offence against Bhaskar Satish Hedau under Section 364(A) of the IPC. Further probe is being conducted by PSI Karade. The action was taken by SDO Shankarsingh Rajput, Police Inspector Sanjay Pawar, PSI Karade, APSI Dongardive, and other policemen under the supervision of Superintendent of Police ( Nagpur Rural) Dr Aarti Singh.
