Nagpur News : A 26-year-old youth landed behind bars minutes after he robbed a senior citizen of cash Rs 97,000 at knife point in Kalaman police station area on Wednesday evening. The praiseful act was a teamwork of five patrolling police from Kalamna police station who showed thier presence of mind, chased down the thief and rounded him not giving any chance to run way.
Stolen amount was recovered from Amol Zade, a resident of Somwari Quarters.
Police Head Constable Vinayak Patil, Constables Ramesh Uikey, Sandeep Lande, Pankaj Kmble and patrolling vehicle driver- Raju Jadhav will be soon rewarded for their alertness by senior officials.
On Wednesday evening, Hudkeshwar resident Vijay Aakre, 60, was heading on his bike to Pardi when Zade stopped him near old Pardi toll plaza. Aakre, a milk seller, was taking the collection amount of Rs 97,000 to deposit it in the dairy company.
Zade threatened Aakre at knife point and snatched away the cash bag from him. While Zade was running away with the bag, Aakre shouted for help which dragged the attention of Patil who was on patrolling duty with his team.
They immediately chased down him and caught him. Driver Jadhav drove from lanes to chase Zade and later others quickly got down and nabbed him. On Aakre’s complaint, a case has been registered against Zade.
